eDocument

eDocument, a free software tool offered by E-Tech, can be used to perform two tasks. It can be used to load and edit RTF files – that would be the first thing. The second would be to write down anything you want and then save the text as rich text document or print it out. From its very simple interface you can use this lightweight application to create and edit text files and you can do it all for free.

You can install eDocument on your Windows-powered machine by downloading a small archive, extracting its contents, and running the setup executable inside. Please note that eDocument is based on the Krypton Suite and without it, it will not work. This means you must first install the Krypton Suite and after that install eDocument.

The application's interface is a simple one indeed. It is just what you would expect from a text editor: the main part is taken up by the text you’re working on; at the top there’s a toolbar that provides easy access to the application’s functionality. Anyone who used a text editor before should immediately feel at home with the interface.

eDocument offers numerous functions to help you write down and edit text: change the font text, color, size, and type; add bullets; highlight, italic, underline text; align paragraphs; indent paragraphs; insert images; insert time and date; undo; find, find and replace; cut/copy/paste; save as; print preview and print. There is no spell check feature, unfortunately.

You will not have to part with any of your money to enjoy the functionality offered by eDocument.
